Overview
Langara College's Geography Associate of Arts Degree is a university-transfer credential covering both human and physical geography. Human geography courses examine the location and spatial patterns of human activities, while physical geography courses cover landforms, geology, climate, and related earth processes. The interdisciplinary program combines these geography courses with general arts and science transfer requirements. It takes a minimum of two years to complete on a full-time or part-time basis, with intakes in September, January, and May. Coursework is designed to transfer into second- and third-year Geography and related environmental or social science programs at universities such as SFU, UBC, and UVic. Graduates typically continue into a four-year Geography degree or a related field such as environmental studies, urban planning, or geographic information systems.
