The Mathematics Associate of Arts Degree is a two-year, university-transferable programme in mathematics and statistics. Courses are university-transferable and can be applied toward the first two years of a bachelor's degree, including options designed for students who did not complete mathematics in high school. The Department of Mathematics reports a strong record of students transferring to universities such as the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University, supported by smaller class sizes and increased contact hours with instructors. The programme provides a foundation for careers that draw on mathematics and statistics, including fields such as engineering, computer science, teaching, and finance. The programme is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with intakes in January, May, and September. As of the Spring 2026 semester, new applications to the Associate of Arts stream have been suspended until further notice.
