Overview
The Diploma in Arts and Science (Women's Studies) at Langara College is a two-year, full-time, in-person interdisciplinary program introducing a range of perspectives on women's histories, contemporary experiences, and movements for social change. Coursework draws on feminist scholarship and examines concepts for understanding how social change and the maintenance of the status quo affect the lives of women, surveying a wide range of female experience across disciplines. The program suits students seeking a broad, gender-focused foundation before transferring into a related four-year degree, rather than as a stand-alone terminal credential. Intakes are offered in September and January. Admission to the program does not guarantee registration in required courses, and some students may need additional English coursework to meet course prerequisites.
