Overview

Langara's Women's Studies Associate of Arts Degree is a two-year, interdisciplinary university-transfer credential introducing students to a diversity of perspectives on women's histories, contemporary experiences, analyses, and movements for change. Core courses draw on feminist scholarship from multiple disciplines to examine how social, political, and economic change affects women's lives locally and globally, with attention to experiences that have traditionally been marginalized. The program combines these core courses with general education requirements and electives from related fields. The degree is offered full-time or part-time, with intakes in September and January. Credits earned in the program are designed to transfer toward a bachelor's degree in women's studies, gender studies, or a related discipline at partner universities in British Columbia and beyond.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants must have BC Secondary School Graduation (or equivalent); domestic applicants who are 19 years of age or older may apply without having completed secondary school, though international applicants must have secondary school graduation.
