The Interior Design Diploma at LaSalle College Vancouver is a 15-month, on-campus, accredited program that develops the creative and technical skills needed to design ethical, code-compliant residential and commercial spaces. Coursework progresses from drawing, architectural drawing, and design and colour theory, through commercial and residential design, computer-aided design, materials, textiles, and lighting studies, to building systems, codes and barrier-free design, and business for interior designers. Students learn to communicate design solutions through visual media and apply their training to real project scenarios, using industry-standard software including Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Trimble SketchUp, Podium, VRay, and Kerkythea. The program concludes with a portfolio built in an industry-standard design environment. The program is not eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
