The Jewellery Design with Business Specialization Diploma at LaSalle College Vancouver is a 12-month, on-campus program that combines jewellery design training with business skills, taking students from initial concept to finished piece across four quarters. Students work in a studio-based environment developing metalworking techniques and experimenting with traditional and alternative materials, using equipment such as jewellery benches, torches, metal anvils, a rolling mill, and a kiln, and materials including copper, brass, sterling silver, gold, platinum, and gemstones. Coursework includes jewellery illustration, 3D modelling and fabrication, and design studio work, and the curriculum emphasizes sustainability, ethics, and innovation. The final quarter focuses on business applications, including creative design management and production and fabrication for business, preparing students to launch their own collections or join existing jewellery brands. The program is not eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
