The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is a four-year direct-entry program using a problem-based learning model built around small-group, self-directed study rather than large lectures. It is offered at two sites, McMaster University's main campus and Mohawk College; students complete all four years at the site they are admitted to, and transfers between sites are not permitted. The first year covers foundational sciences and introductory nursing courses, while years two through four combine classroom instruction with clinical placements in settings such as acute care, maternal and child health, mental health, public health, home visiting, and long-term care. Simulation-based learning takes place in a dedicated simulation centre using both high- and low-fidelity models, alongside a standardized-patient program for practising communication and clinical skills; an anatomy laboratory is also used. In the optional fourth year, students may pursue placements in Canadian outpost, northern, or international settings. The page states no co-op or internship stream is currently offered.
