Neuroscience (MSc)

The Master of Science in Neuroscience at McMaster University is a thesis-based graduate program administered through the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour, part of the Faculty of Science. Students undertake original research into the biological basis of behaviour, cognition, and the nervous system, working under the supervision of a faculty advisor across areas such as behavioural, cognitive, cellular, and systems neuroscience. The program combines required coursework with an independent research project culminating in a written thesis and its oral defence, normally completed by a full-time student within about two years. Admission normally requires an honours bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a field relevant to neuroscience. Graduates are prepared for further doctoral study or for research roles in academic, clinical, and biotechnology settings.
