Diploma in Practical Nursing (PSW to PN) (Evenings and Weekends Hybrid Delivery) is a diploma in Nursing programme offered by Mohawk College in Hamilton, Canada. The programme runs for 16 months, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition is CAD 1,662 per semester for local students.
This bridging diploma moves certificate-prepared Personal Support Workers from Ontario community colleges, private colleges, career colleges or equivalent programs into a nursing diploma and the Registered Practical Nurse designation, contingent on passing the College of Nurses of Ontario exam. Students who pass all first-semester courses progress into semester two of the full-time Practical Nursing program. Theory courses are delivered online but still require in-person midterm and final exams, lab-based courses require mandatory in-person attendance, and clinical placements take place in person at health care agencies, with shifts building from two seven-hour blocks a week to a 40-hour final placement week spanning days, nights and weekends. The curriculum follows the RPN Entry-to-Practice Competencies set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
