Trades - Apprenticeship in Plumber

The Plumber program is a Skilled Trades Ontario apprenticeship whose in-school training component is delivered at Mohawk College's Stoney Creek Campus for Skilled Trades. Registered apprentices complete 720 hours of in-class instruction, combined with 8,280 hours of on-the-job training with a sponsoring employer, for a total of 9,000 hours. Coursework covers the use of hand and power tools, piping materials, plan reading, and pipe layout, cutting, fitting, and joining, along with the installation and repair of potable water systems, drainage and wastewater systems, venting systems, hot water tanks, heating systems, and gas piping in residential and industrial-commercial settings. The program follows an earn-while-you-learn model combining paid on-the-job work experience with in-school training blocks. Graduates receive a Mohawk College Certificate, eligible for an Ontario College Certificate, and progress toward the Certificate of Qualification examination through Skilled Trades Ontario.
