Program details

Overview

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance is a four-year degree covering financial planning, corporate finance and investment strategy, including financial modeling, risk management, valuation and portfolio strategy across the core curriculum. Students choose among three career-focused concentrations: Financial Analysis and Investment Fund Management, both of which prepare students to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and Financial Services, which positions graduates toward the Qualified Associate Financial Planner and Certified Financial Planner designations later in their careers. The program includes co-op placements with banks, investment firms and finance teams so students gain paid, industry-based experience before graduating, and an Honours stream is available for those wanting an added research component. It suits students aiming for roles in banking, investment management, corporate finance or financial planning, who want a concentration aligned to a specific professional finance designation from the outset of their studies.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry from Alberta high school requires five Grade 12 courses, including English Language Arts 30-1 (minimum 60%) and Mathematics 30-1 or 30-2 (minimum 60%), plus three further courses from Groups A, B or C.
