Overview
The Master of Science in Natural Sciences (GNSR) is a research-driven, thesis-based program for students who want to deepen their understanding of the natural world and contribute to scientific knowledge through original research. Students complete required interdisciplinary GNSR coursework together with an elective drawn from biology, public relations, or psychology offerings, then undertake a thesis under the guidance of a faculty supervisor. The program blends theoretical knowledge with practical research skills and challenges students to address complex scientific problems, drawing on expertise from natural-science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, psychology, and statistics. Required coursework spans research methods and specialized interdisciplinary topics, and students who wish to take coursework at another university may do so with departmental approval and a Letter of Permission, subject to the university's transfer-of-credit regulations.

Minimum GPA:3.00 / 4.0
Admission Requirements: Applicants will normally have completed a four-year baccalaureate degree with honours, or the equivalent, in a natural-science area such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, neuroscience, physics, psychology, or statistics, from an accredited university, with a minimum B average (GPA 3.0) over their most recent 10.0 units of coursework. Applicants should complete the Graduate Studies Application Package by February 15 for fall admission in order to be considered for funding, though applications received after this date may still be considered.
