Trades - Apprenticeship in Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Apprenticeship

The Metal Fabricator (Fitter) Apprenticeship trains registered apprentices to design, fabricate, and assemble metal components used in structures such as buildings, bridges, tanks, and pressure vessels. In-school instruction totals 720 hours of college training delivered at Niagara College's Welland campus, combined with paid on-the-job training completed with a sponsoring employer as a registered apprentice. The apprenticeship has an overall delivery length of 3 to 3.5 years and leads to a Certificate of Apprenticeship. Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Grade 12 equivalency, together with employment in the trade under a registered training agreement. New apprentices can begin their in-school training in the Fall term.
