This one-year Postgraduate Certificate at Nova Scotia Community College's Centre of Geographic Sciences prepares graduates to map, measure, and monitor the Earth using remote sensing technology. Delivered on campus, the program builds on core geographic information systems (GIS) skills and adds specialized training in drone systems, lidar, radar, and multispectral imagery through hands-on projects. Students learn to acquire, process, and interpret remote sensing data for applications in resource management, environmental monitoring, and urban planning. A mandatory field experience course, lasting approximately five weeks, lets students choose between a field camp, a capstone project, or an applied research option.
