Overview
The Visual Arts Certificate in Studio is a post-baccalaureate, 30-credit program at NSCAD University for people who already hold a visual arts degree or another undergraduate credential and want to expand their studio practice. Students take the same courses alongside degree students, choosing a general course of study or specializing in a discipline such as ceramics, design, drawing, film, expanded media, jewellery and metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, or textiles. Applicants with a visual arts degree can concentrate on a single discipline with at least 24 studio credits; those with a non-arts degree complete 15 foundation studio credits alongside liberal arts and electives. The program runs from one to three years depending on pace of study, is offered across NSCAD's campuses, and has no application deadline. Admission requires official transcripts and a personal statement.
