Program details

Overview

Fine Art - Sculpture is one of four studio specializations within NSCAD University's Bachelor of Fine Arts program, delivered on-campus at the Port Campus over four years. Students learn to create three-dimensional and four-dimensional work using a wide range of physical materials, including wood, metal, plastics, and stone, alongside digital media and design technologies. The curriculum also builds foundational skills in drawing, painting, and printmaking, and examines sculpture historically alongside contemporary practices involving technology, interdisciplinary methods, and public art. Students are encouraged to bring textiles, film, performance, and metalsmithing into their sculptural work, transforming everyday materials and objects through their own artistic approach. Graduates leave with technical and conceptual grounding suited to careers or further study in fine art, public art, and related creative fields.
