Fine Art - Drawing is one of four studio specializations within NSCAD University's Bachelor of Fine Arts program, delivered on-campus over four years. Students begin with a shared Foundation year introducing all NSCAD disciplines before focusing on drawing through courses covering composition, colour, and light, using both observational and experimental approaches. The curriculum also builds practical skills across painting, sculpture, and printmaking alongside the drawing specialization, encouraging students to develop a personal visual language and take creative risks. Once past Foundation year, students gain extensive access to dedicated studio space to support independent practice. Class sizes are small, with direct faculty mentorship throughout the degree. Graduates leave with a portfolio and technical grounding suited to further study or careers in fine art, illustration, and related creative fields.
