Overview
The Tourism Management Diploma provides you with an overview of the tourism industry along with management skills for this diverse and integrated industry. The program includes courses that address tourism and business management functions as well as providing opportunities to network and build connections within the sector. An integral part of the program is a co-op, as well as a faculty-supervised tourism sector study course, which will allow you to engage in experiential learning within the tourism community. Core themes include tourism and hospitality operations, sustainability, service management, marketing, and industry diversity. Upon graduation, you will be prepared for supervisory or front-line management positions in tourism and hospitality.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Regular applicants need B.C. secondary school graduation or the equivalent and English 12 or an approved alternative, plus a minimum of 50% in one of the accepted Grade 11 mathematics courses (Pre-calculus 11, Foundations of Mathematics 11, Principles of Mathematics 11, Applications of Mathematics 11, Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 11, Adult Basic Education MATH 011, MATH 080, MATH 084 and MATH 085, or IALG 011), or alternatively a minimum score of 16/25 on the Okanagan College Mathematics Diagnostic Test. Mature applicants at least 19 years of age and out of full-time secondary study for at least one year have the graduation requirement waived but must still meet the English and Mathematics requirements. Applicants who do not meet either requirement may be admitted as a qualifying student with restrictions on course load and continued enrolment. The program page does not publish IELTS, TOEFL or other standardized English-language scores. A personal laptop is required.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants: there is no fixed closing date. For a Fall intake the College starts taking applications at 8:30 a.m. on October's first weekday of the preceding year, and for a Winter intake at 8:30 a.m. on February's first weekday of the preceding year, then keeps accepting them until the seats are gone - so apply early. The college-wide academic deadlines are 31 October for a January start (transcripts, English proof and deposit by 15 November) and 28 February for the May or July sessions (by 31 March); for a September start the College asks international applicants to apply as early as possible and before 15 May for the best choice of programs and courses.
