The PhD in Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University gives students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills needed to conduct high-quality research culminating in a doctoral thesis, across three specialization areas: Community, Public and Population Health; Health Informatics; and Kinesiology. Students synthesize theoretical knowledge with practical expertise within their chosen specialization. Applicants must hold a research project or thesis-based master's-level degree in Health Sciences, Health Informatics, Kinesiology or an equivalent field, and admission depends on a faculty member agreeing to supervise the applicant's research. The programme is delivered through a hybrid of online and in-class instruction, and normally takes about four years of full-time study to complete. There is a single intake each September, with tuition charged at the university's flat annual doctoral rate for domestic and international students.
