Biomechanics and Ergonomics is a specialization within Ontario Tech University's Kinesiology program, leading to a four-year Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) delivered on-campus at the North Oshawa campus with a September start. The specialization focuses on the interaction between the human body and the physical environment, covering how to optimize human performance, reduce musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace, and support healthy return to work and sport. Students have access to the Kinesiology Teaching Laboratory and other health sciences facilities. Experiential-learning components include clinical placements, internships, practicum work and research study. Graduates are eligible to apply for the Associate Ergonomist designation and, with additional work experience, the Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist designation, preparing them for careers in health care, sport, rehabilitation and workplace ergonomics.
