Overview
This two-year, 36-credit degree opens with the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching before moving into advanced coaching psychology, ethics, and evaluation, taught by credentialed coaches. Students combine online coursework with two one-week on-campus residencies, the first at the start of the program and the second at the start of its next phase, and can tailor their learning through elective choices before completing the program through either an applied project or a thesis. Standard admission calls for a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree and normally at least three years of relevant full-time work experience; flexible admission considers applicants with normally at least seven years of extensive relevant work experience and some post-secondary education. Credits from the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching or an equivalent accredited coaching program can also apply toward the master's degree.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must first have completed Royal Roads' own Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching, or equivalent coach training elsewhere, plus a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Standard admission normally requires at least three years of relevant full-time experience; flexible admission is available to applicants with at least seven years of extensive relevant work experience and some post-secondary education. The programme page defers to Royal Roads' institution-wide English language proficiency requirements for applicants whose first language is not English: for graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking. Applicants also submit a one- to two-page personal statement, a résumé emphasising the past ten years, two reference letters and official transcripts; international credentials require evaluation.

RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
