Overview
This certificate program develops knowledge and skills in preventive skin care and esthetic treatments. Coursework covers skin care and facials, make-up application techniques, eyebrow shaping, waxing and tinting, manicures and pedicures, epilation and unwanted hair removal, specialized skin care, and spa and body treatments, delivered on campus at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Salon & Spa facility in Prince Albert. The program runs 32 weeks full-time, with part-time delivery available to students who have already completed the required prerequisite courses. Graduates typically work in salons, spas and wellness centres, in roles such as esthetician-skin care technician, make-up artist, or spa manager, and the credential also carries credit toward journeyperson status through Saskatchewan's apprenticeship system. The program admits students for a single intake each year beginning in September.
