Overview
Four-year honours science degree at the Seneca@York campus preparing biological technologists and research associates. The curriculum covers molecular genetics, immunology, virology, pharmaceuticals and bioinformatics, with extensive hands-on time in modern microbiology labs and two industry-focused capstone projects. A mandatory work-integrated learning placement of at least 420 hours is required, with an optional four-month work term also available. Delivery is hybrid, with in-person study from semester three onward.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status, with six Grade 12 U or M courses averaging at least 65% overall, including Grade 12 English (ENG4U), one Grade 12 mathematics course (Calculus and Vectors MCV4U or Advanced Functions MHF4U), Grade 12 Biology (SBI4U), and Grade 12 Chemistry (SCH4U), each at a minimum of 65%; Seneca offers free upgrading for applicants short of English or math. Graduates of an Ontario Biotechnology diploma or advanced diploma with a GPA of 65% or higher qualify for advanced entry. English proficiency for international applicants follows Seneca's institution-wide standard for degree programs (senecapolytechnic.ca English requirements page): IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT with no skill score below 21, PTE Academic 60, Duolingo 115-120, or CAEL 70 with writing at least 60; domestic applicants meeting the Grade 12 English prerequisite are not asked for a formal test. International applicants may also be asked for further documents on a country-specific basis.
