Offered by Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada, Data Science: Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) is a bachelor's degree in Data Science & Analytics programme. The programme runs for 4 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 1,263 per credit (CAD 216 per credit for local students).
This interdisciplinary bachelor's program combines coursework from statistics, computing science, mathematics and business. Topics include optimizing organizational operations, improving product and service features, identifying trends, supporting evidence-based decisions and predicting outcomes. Students complete two capstone projects, one near the start of the degree and one near the end, each applying these methods to real-world problems.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: BC/Yukon secondary applicants (rules for Fall 2026 entry onwards): graduate from high school carrying at least five approved academic Grade 12 courses, score 70% or better in Language Arts 11 / English 12 or equivalent, and clear SFU's English language requirement and its Quantitative and Analytical Skills requirement (60% or C in an approved Grade 11 or 12 math course, or an accepted IB / A-level / GCSE / transferable equivalent). Approved AP or IB courses may stand in for the required courses. Program prerequisites — Grade 11: two of Chemistry 11, Life Sciences 11 or Physics 11. Grade 12: English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12; Pre-Calculus 12; and at least two of Anatomy and Physiology 12, Calculus 12, Chemistry 12 or Physics 12.
International secondary applicants: graduate from a university-preparatory stream at a senior high school, meet the same English language and quantitative requirements, and present senior-level Math and two of senior-level Biology, Chemistry or Physics. The admission average is taken from final-year results and SFU publishes country-by-country equivalencies; applicants short of direct entry can route through Fraser International College. Admission is competitive and files are re-read as new marks arrive, so meeting the published minimums does not by itself secure a place.
