BA/BS in French and Francophone Studies

French and Francophone Studies is offered by the Department of French in SFU's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, leading to a Bachelor of Arts as either a major or a minor. The program also offers certificates in French education and in language proficiency for students who want fewer than a full major's worth of coursework. Teaching combines interactive language classes with online courses and use of mass and social media, aiming to bring students' French to a professional level. Students study language, literature, and francophone culture, with course options in-person and online. The program serves both students pursuing a full degree in French and those taking a smaller number of courses to build proficiency.
