Overview

Interactive Arts and Technology and Business (BSc) is a joint major offered by the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, within the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, together with the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. The program combines human-centred, technology-oriented design and development skills with business knowledge, preparing graduates for industry leadership positions at the intersection of interactive technology and commerce. Students complete the school's interactive arts and technology concentrations alongside core business coursework, graduating with a Bachelor of Science. As with all first bachelor's degrees at Simon Fraser University, the program requires successful completion of a minimum of 120 units, including at least 44 upper-division units. Students must qualify for admission to the Beedie School of Business in addition to being accepted as a joint major in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology; admission to Beedie is competitive and based on minimum grade point average requirements. Courses are delivered at the Burnaby and Surrey campuses, with some sections offered online or in the evening.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Students must qualify for admission to the Beedie School of Business in addition to being accepted as a joint major in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, meeting the requirements of both programs. Admission to the Beedie School of Business is competitive, and meeting the minimum grade point average does not guarantee a place. Once admitted, a minimum overall SFU Business grade point average of 2.30 is required both to enrol in 300- and 400-division business courses and to graduate from the program.
