The Geography (Urban Studies) major at McGill draws on geography, architecture, political science, and sociology to examine how urban areas develop, change, and address challenges such as housing, transportation, and social services. Students take an interdisciplinary set of courses spanning statistics, geography, architecture, civil engineering, political science, urban planning, management, and sociology, including Introductory Geo-Information Science, Southeast Asia Urban Field Studies, and Advanced Political Geography. The program builds research, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills applicable to careers in government, academia, or private industry. Complementary minors include Environment, Political Science, International Development Studies, and Sociology. Related majors include Geography, Architecture, Environment, and Political Science.
