Performance Studies Certificate

Admission Requirements: Students must be admitted to SFU and complete two of the following courses before formal admission to the certificate: ENGL 113W (Literature and Performance), CA 118 (Contemporary Art History), GSWS 100 (Sex Talk), GSWS 101 (Gender Talk), or SA 101 (Introduction to Anthropology). The certificate then requires a minimum of 26 units: three foundational courses (from CA 217, CA 257W, CA 289, ENGL 214, ENGL 216, GSWS 204, GSWS 205, SA 201W, SA 218), two intermediate courses (from CA 314, GSWS 331, SA 474), and three upper-level electives from a published cross-departmental list. A cumulative grade point average of 2.5 is required across the courses used for the certificate, and no more than four of them may come from any single department. No English-language test score, interview, portfolio or other non-academic condition is published for this certificate.
