Overview
SFU's Master of Education in Educational Practice is built for teachers and other school-based staff who want to dig into their own instructional practice rather than start a new research career. The standard path runs six terms and asks for a minimum of 37 units: a required inquiry-into-practice course, a fieldwork course, a research-methods elective, at least 15 further units of education coursework, and a satisfactory/unsatisfactory comprehensive exam instead of a thesis. Applicants who already hold SFU's Graduate Diploma in Education can ladder those credits in and finish in as few as three terms. Classes run in person, with at least one section offered in the evening to fit around a teaching schedule.
