This micro-certificate is made from a set of three dual-credit courses aimed at high school students exploring digital creativity: graphic design, game design and development, and creative projects. Students may apply for one, two, or all three courses individually, though completing all three is required before the micro-certificate itself is awarded.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission runs through SFU's Concurrent Studies dual-credit pathway for high-school students rather than general university admission. Applicants must be currently registered and attending a public school in British Columbia, in Grade 11 or 12, with a grade of C+ or better in English Language Arts 10, good attendance and punctuality, and a genuine interest in the course topics; students should expect to invest time outside class on software learning and projects. All applicants must attend a required online information session before applying. Students at partnering districts (Surrey SD36, Vancouver SD39, New Westminster SD40) apply through their district's dual-credit process, with a Career Facilitator, a teacher reference letter, and a district-coordinator interview if shortlisted; students elsewhere email the program contact by April 1 and apply through SFU's Concurrent Studies website. No English-language test or post-secondary transcript is required, since this is a high-school-level credential.

Fall 2027 entry: high-school-route applications open 1 October 2026 and close 31 January 2027, while transfer applications open 1 March 2027 and close 15 April 2027 (Education and Contemporary Arts transfer applicants may apply from 1 October 2026). Spring 2027 entry runs 1 July to 15 September 2026, and Summer 2027 entry runs 1 December 2026 to 15 January 2027. Admission documents are generally due 28 February 2027 (Fall) and offers must be accepted by 1 May. International applicants use the same EducationPlannerBC dates and portal; SFU publishes no separate international deadline.
