Computing Science Dual Degree is a joint program between Simon Fraser University's School of Computing Science and Zhejiang University (ZJU) in China, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from SFU alongside a second credential from ZJU. Two pathways are offered: a Bachelor of Engineering from ZJU, completed over two years at ZJU followed by two years at SFU; or a Master of Finance in Financial Technology from ZJU, completed over roughly three and a half years at SFU followed by one and a half years at ZJU, for a combined program length of about five years. The Master of Finance option includes internship experience, international exposure and cross-cultural learning components. Students in the Bachelor of Engineering option are admitted on the recommendation of Zhejiang University's College of Computer Science and Technology; the Master of Finance option is entered directly from secondary school or by transfer from another SFU program, with admission competitive and limited.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry to the BSc/Bachelor of Engineering pathway is by recommendation of Zhejiang University's College of Computer Science and Technology. For the BSc/Master of Finance pathway, secondary-school applicants must meet a competitive admission average on specified secondary-school coursework and complete a two-step process: meeting that admission average, then submitting a Statement of Interest form, a resume outlining achievements and work history, and contact details for two referees (at least one academic) through the Dual Degree Program website. SFU students may also transfer in and should consult an Applied Sciences advisor for an academic and language placement assessment. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA (2.40 for BSc/Bachelor of Engineering, 3.0 for BSc/Master of Finance) to remain in good standing, or face probation and reduced course availability.
