French and Education Post-Baccalaureate Diploma

Admission Requirements: Admission requires a completed bachelor's degree with a minimum graduation grade point average of 2.0 for applicants from British Columbia institutions or 2.4 for those from institutions outside the province. The programme also requires demonstrated spoken and written French competence equivalent to successful completion of FREN 222; applicants whose background falls short must first complete the lower-division prerequisites FREN 275 and/or FREN 245 (or FREN 240). Admission is a two-step process: applicants first seek university admission or readmission to SFU, then separately apply to the Department of French advisor (Helene Pouliot) for diploma admission, and completion of the diploma itself requires a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. No IELTS, TOEFL, portfolio or interview requirement is published beyond the French-language competency standard.
