Overview
Industrial Mechanics make parts using various hand and machine tools. They perform welding and fabrication, installation of fluid power systems, pumps, valves and piping and possess basic electrical skills. They also perform machine repair and troubleshooting of industrial mechanical systems and material-handling equipment and have skills in the rigging of loads and crane operations. This program appeals to students who have a mechanical aptitude and enjoy hands-on work. They need to be organized and enjoy a challenge while working both independently and as part of a team.

Admission Requirements: Domestic entry requires an OSSD with the majority of credits at College (C), University (U), University/College (M) or Open (O) level, plus Grade 12 Math at the College or University level; senior-level Physics is recommended but not mandatory. Mature applicants (19+) without an OSSD may write the College's admission tests in Math and/or English. The programme page sets no language score of its own, so St. Clair's institution-wide diploma-level English requirement applies: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 60, PTE Academic 52, CAEL 60, CELPIP General 7.0 in each module, or Duolingo 110, scored within the last two years. Domestic applications go through Ontario Colleges (February 1 equal-consideration date for Fall); international applicants use the International OCAS portal, first-come, first-served.
