The program is oriented toward preparing safe, evidence-informed, and critical-thinking nurses, with an emphasis on health promotion, social justice, cultural safety, and equity in patient care. Coursework combines classroom instruction with clinical practice components intended to build practice-ready graduates capable of working across varied care settings. Completion of the degree is intended to make graduates eligible to sit the registered nurse licensing examination. The program draws on the school's long history of nursing education in the region. It suits students seeking a career as a registered nurse in hospital, community, long-term care, or other settings, and can lead toward further specialization such as nurse practitioner training, nursing education, public health, or research roles.
