Overview
Honours Medieval Studies at St. Jerome's University, co-sponsored with the University of Waterloo, is a four-year Bachelor of Arts examining the period from the fall of the Roman Empire to the beginning of the modern era through an interdisciplinary lens spanning history, literature, religion, philosophy, and art. The Honours stream, available in regular and Arts and Business Co-op formats, requires a concentrated sequence of Medieval Studies coursework and develops deeper research and analytical skills than the General programme. Students explore medieval society, culture, and ideas across regions and centuries, drawing connections between disciplines. Course delivery includes on-campus, blended, and online formats. The Honours credential prepares graduates for graduate study in medieval history, literature, or related humanities fields, and for careers in education, archives, museums, and public history.
