The Master of Business Administration (MBA) at TRU's Bob Gaglardi School of Business and Economics is a graduate degree in business administration that can be completed in 12 to 24 months, or in as little as one year for students who already hold a Bachelor of Business Administration. Students choose among course-based, research-project, or thesis completion options, and full-time students take a minimum of two graduate courses per semester. The program is delivered on campus, online, or in hybrid form, with evening classes available for both campus and online students, and can be taken full-time or part-time. The school offers research supervision for students pursuing the thesis route and up to $10,000 in entrance awards for on-campus, full-time domestic students. The program is open to domestic and international students. It suits professionals who want to deepen their understanding of business leadership and advance their careers, as well as those planning to start or grow their own venture, and offers flexible scheduling and course selection for students balancing work and study.
Requirements
Minimum GPA:3.00 / 4.33
Admission Requirements: ACADEMIC: a three- or four-year undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum B average — a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.33 scale, or the local equivalent — in your last 60 credits. Applicants holding a four-year business degree from an acceptable institution may be eligible for accelerated entry straight into the 6000-level courses. GMAT: not required. Candidates may be asked to submit a GMAT score to help the degree committee assess an application where deficiencies are identified, and exceptions may be considered. LANGUAGE: if your undergraduate degree was not taken at an English-language university in a country whose primary language is English, you need a recent academic IELTS score of 7.0 with no band below 6.5, or an institutional equivalent. QUANTITATIVE SKILLS: assessed through relevant undergraduate coursework in quantitative subjects, or an optional GMAT score; applicants judged deficient may still be accepted but will be required to take approved courses or developmental activities to upgrade before or alongside the program. RESUME AND LETTER OF INTENT: used to assess the maturity, motivation and communication skills needed to succeed in the program.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) apply directly to TRU: for the September (Fall) intake the deadline is 1 May, for January (Winter) it is 1 September, and for the May (Summer) intake it is 1 January; applications for most programs open 1 October, and a deadline falling on a weekend or statutory holiday moves to the next working day. International applicants follow the same intake structure with deadlines of 1 May (September), 1 October (January) and 1 February (May); TRU still reviews later applications where space remains, though high-volume programs can close early, so admission runs on a rolling basis around these published cut-offs for the 2027 entry cycle. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
