Overview
This Bachelor of Arts (Honours) program in Philosophy examines the history of human thought, covering questions of ethics, political power, knowledge, and meaning. Students develop critical thinking, argumentation, and communication skills through discussion-based courses and collaborative projects, applying philosophical analysis to contemporary ethical and social issues. The program follows a shared first-year foundation with eleven other Bachelor of Arts programs at the university, with focused study beginning in later years. It is offered as a four-year full-time program or a five-year co-op option that adds paid work terms. Students can combine Philosophy with a double major in English or History. Graduates pursue roles across academia, the public sector, and private industry, or continue to graduate study in philosophy, law, or related fields.
