Program details
Overview
This program offers a Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Environmental Applied Science and Management, with a PhD also available, at Toronto Metropolitan University. The curriculum takes an interdisciplinary approach to environmental science and management, drawing on more than 100 faculty members and external associates working across science, the social sciences, engineering, business, architecture, planning and public health. MASc students build on existing skills and subject knowledge while developing a broad-based perspective on environmental issues, in a program whose recent student research has covered solar energy policy, urban drainage modelling, mine site reclamation, biofuel production, beach water quality, hydraulic fracturing policy, and corporate environmental disclosure practices. The program is offered full-time, with part-time study also available at the MASc level, and is administered from the university's downtown Toronto campus. Graduates are prepared for professional and research careers that require both technical environmental expertise and the ability to work across disciplinary and organizational boundaries.
