The Baccalauréat en ergothérapie is a three-year, 90-credit undergraduate program that forms the first stage of Université de Montréal's integrated bachelor-master pathway leading to professional licensure as an occupational therapist in Quebec. The curriculum is built around problem-based learning (apprentissage par problèmes) and blends classroom study with more than 1,000 hours of supervised clinical placements, beginning in the first semester and continuing through third year. Students study human anatomy and physiology, psychosocial and physical rehabilitation, assistive technologies, and intervention methods used across pediatric, adult, and geriatric settings. In the third year, students may pursue an international exchange placement. Graduates progress directly into the companion master's program required for professional certification and practice as an occupational therapist. Instruction is delivered on-campus in Montreal, in French, with day classes and mandatory placements at partner health and community institutions across Quebec.
