Overview
This four-year bachelor's program is designed for students who hold a twelve-year secondary school diploma from a Canadian province other than Quebec, or a pre-university diploma obtained outside Canada that is not equivalent to a Quebec DEC, and who need an additional year of preparatory study in natural and formal sciences before continuing into a specialized science program. The first year comprises 30 credits of foundational coursework, delivered through day and evening courses at the Montreal campus, with full-time and part-time study options. Admission cycles are offered for both the Fall and Winter terms. The program builds the mathematical, physical, and scientific foundation that Quebec's CEGEP system normally provides, allowing students to progress into further undergraduate science programs at the university. All applicants must meet the university's French-language proficiency requirement.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold either a twelve-year secondary school diploma from a Canadian province other than Quebec, or a pre-university diploma obtained outside Canada that is not equivalent to a Quebec DEC. All applicants must satisfy the University of Montreal's French-language requirement, met through a recognized French test at a minimum B2 level in listening and reading comprehension taken within 24 months of the program's start, or an equivalent recognized educational pathway.
