This Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Baccalaureat en sciences infirmieres, formation initiale) at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 107-credit program delivered on campus with admission in the fall term only. The program trains clinical nurse practitioners through laboratory practicums and high-fidelity simulation activities alongside classroom instruction. Students complete nine mandatory clinical internships, one of which is student-selected, spanning clinical settings relevant to general nursing practice. Graduates who pass the professional licensing examination of the Ordre des infirmieres et infirmiers du Quebec (OIIQ) may register as nurses and gain prescribing rights within their scope of practice. Sufficient reading knowledge of English is expected, since coursework requires consulting English-language scientific publications. Applicants must complete required biology and mathematics prerequisites from a defined list of collegial or equivalent courses before beginning the first trimester.
