This Bachelor of Social Work (Baccalaureat en travail social) at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 90-credit program delivered on campus with admission in the fall term only, and is not open to applicants applying from outside Canada. The program develops professionals able to analyze and intervene with individuals, families, groups, and communities, balancing theoretical coursework with practice through year-long field internships. Students build competencies in social-work methodology, intervention planning, and professional ethics, applying classroom learning directly in placement settings under supervision. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Bachelor in Social Work follows three routes. Candidates holding a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) are admitted with a minimum collegial performance score (cote de rendement) of 21; candidates scoring between 19 and 21 may be called for an interview. Candidates on a university-studies base must have completed a minimum of fifteen university-level credits with a cumulative average of at least 2.3/4.3; those with an average between 2.1 and 2.3/4.3 may be called for an interview. Candidates on a sufficient-preparation base need a Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or the equivalent plus at least two years of full-time relevant work experience (3,200 hours). This program is not open to candidates applying from outside Canada.
