This certificate in Visual Arts at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 30-credit first-cycle programme offering practical training in painting, sculpture, and installation alongside theoretical training in aesthetics and art history. The programme is delivered on campus in Chicoutimi and admits students in the winter and fall terms. Applicants coming through the college or university route must present a portfolio of past artistic work, and those admitted via the university or sufficient-preparation routes also attend an interview. The certificate suits candidates who already hold a related college diploma and want to deepen studio practice, as well as candidates transferring university credits or bringing demonstrated artistic experience and technique into a structured programme of critical and historical study. The programme draws candidates from a range of backgrounds, including CEGEP graduates in a related discipline, students transferring university credits, and applicants who can demonstrate relevant artistic experience and technique in place of formal academic prerequisites.
