The Maîtrise en art supports research and creation through in-depth engagement with artistic practices and theory, offered through two concentrations. The création concentration builds the student's autonomy through critical analysis of their own creative choices and develops an understanding of the theoretical and practical links between artist, work, audience, and the context in which art is presented; this research-creation may be disciplinary or interdisciplinary, spanning visual art, design, film, theatre, and digital art. The enseignement et transmission de l'art concentration deepens the theoretical and practical knowledge that supports teaching about art and through art. Students in both concentrations complete a final research or research-creation project under faculty supervision. The 45-credit program is delivered on campus at the Saguenay campus, with admission in the fall and winter terms.
