This certificate in Cinema and Video at Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi is a 30-credit first-cycle programme that develops a creative and critical attitude toward film and cinematic art. It gives students the technical and conceptual means to find their own creative voice while producing critical readings that question the aesthetic and technological foundations of cinema. The programme is delivered on campus in Chicoutimi and admits students in the fall and winter terms. Applicants coming through the university or sufficient-preparation route must present a portfolio and attend an interview, alongside candidates admitted on the strength of a related college diploma. The certificate combines hands-on filmmaking and video production with theoretical study, suiting both students building toward further studies in film and working practitioners refining their craft.
