The PhD in Education is a 90-credit doctoral programme offering advanced, interdisciplinary training in education research across multiple research traditions. Students design and carry out an original doctoral research project under the guidance of a thesis director, developing expertise in a chosen area of educational research. Most of the 90 credits are earned through directed research activities, culminating in a written doctoral thesis that is defended before an evaluation committee. The programme is delivered in person at the Saguenay campus and admits new students in the Fall term. It is intended for candidates holding a relevant master's degree who wish to pursue advanced research, university teaching, or leadership roles connected to the field of education, building on prior graduate study and, in some cases, professional experience in educational intervention.
