This bachelor's degree prepares students to teach mathematics at the secondary level in Quebec, leading to a teaching certificate from the province's Ministry of Education. The 120-credit, on-campus program develops competencies in educational intervention centred on learner-focused pedagogical models, with emphasis on differentiated instruction for students with learning difficulties or physical or intellectual disabilities. Admission is offered each September. Entry is available through a Quebec DEC in Natural Sciences, Sciences-Letters-Arts, Human Sciences, or Computer Science-Mathematics (or equivalent), a credential from outside Quebec after at least 13 years of schooling, prior university study, or a route for applicants without these credentials who meet a competitive selection review. Non-francophone applicants must document French proficiency.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants may qualify through one of four bases. Quebec DEC holders in Sciences of Nature, Sciences-Letters-Arts, Human Sciences, or Computer Science-Mathematics (or an equivalent program meeting the same collegiate objectives) need a minimum R-score of 24; those scoring 22 to 24 are invited to an interview. Applicants educated outside Quebec need a diploma granting access to higher education after at least 13 years of schooling with a minimum average of 12/20 (10 to 12/20 considered case by case). University-transfer applicants need at least 15 completed university credits with a cumulative average of at least 2.5 on a 4.3 scale, plus at least 80% on a review of their academic file, letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, and an interview. Applicants without these credentials may qualify under the sufficient-preparation base by scoring at least 80% on a review of transcripts, a letter of motivation, a curriculum vitae, two recommendation letters, and an interview. Non-native French speakers must provide proof of French proficiency.
