Overview
The PhD in Project Management is a 90-credit doctoral programme oriented toward organizational practice and applied research. It trains managers and project managers for advanced roles in the field, combining rigorous research training with a strong connection to professional practice. Most of the 90 credits are earned through directed research activities, culminating in a written doctoral thesis that is defended before an examination committee. Students design and carry out original applied research under the supervision of a thesis director, developing conceptual solutions to complex project-management problems while remaining grounded in real organizational settings. The programme is delivered entirely through synchronous distance (online) courses and admits new students in the Fall term. Admission Requirements: Applicants who completed their studies in Quebec must hold a master's degree in project management with a cumulative average of at least 3.2 on 4.3, submit a complete application file, and obtain written acceptance from a professor willing to supervise the thesis; sufficient French and functional English are required. Applicants who obtained their diploma outside Quebec, after at least eighteen years of schooling, must have an average of at least 14 on 20. Non-francophone applicants must provide proof of French proficiency. The application must include three letters of recommendation, a curriculum vitae, and a motivation letter describing the applicant's research interests and proposed supervising professor.
