The Maîtrise en éducation lets students deepen their knowledge, skills, and competencies in education, and complete an essai grounded in evidence-based knowledge aimed at improving a specific area of educational practice. The program trains education professionals able to exercise critical, reflective judgment and to propose solutions to concrete problems in education. Graduates demonstrate awareness of the social, political, and ideological issues facing schools; sensitivity to challenges linked to different cultures and socio-economic conditions; the ability to design and initiate research projects individually or in teams; familiarity with research, communication, and knowledge-transfer practices in education; and the ability to build pedagogical, didactic, or administrative models systematically. The 45-credit program is delivered through synchronous distance learning, with admission in the fall and winter terms; this format is not open to international student applications.
