This 90-credit Bachelor of Arts in Career Development, offered by the Faculty of Education, trains professionals to provide career counselling, coaching, and advising to individuals, groups, and organizations across education, employment services, human resources, and consulting. The curriculum combines counselling theory and career-development frameworks with practice-based training in guidance interviews, group facilitation, and career-information tools, preparing graduates to support clients through education, employment, and career-transition decisions in school, community, and workplace settings. Coursework also addresses the social and organizational context of work, labour-market information, and professional ethics in counselling practice. The program is offered full-time and part-time on the Montreal campus, with admission in the fall term only, and can be entered through a standard DEC route, a work-experience route, a university-studies route, or an international-credential route. Some required and optional courses require reading comprehension of English-language texts.
